Melody sighed as she kicked a stone, watching it roll across the dirt ground on the shores of the lake. Another year... how fun. If only there was no work involved with going to the school it would have been fine, Melody hated stayed up all night trying to finish her homework, as she tended to leave things to the very last minute. Maybe if she didn't do that every single night the work part of school wouldn't have been so bad. Tucking a strand of her hair behind one ear she bent over and picked up one of the many stones in the dirt and flun it into the water, watching it fly as it then plummeted into the water, making the water splash up and ripple.
Well wasn't this a fun filled day, it was already nearing the end of the night and what had Melody done all day? Woken up, had breakfast, went back to sleep and walked by the lake... fun, fun, fun. She had barely seen anyone around the school... yet alone someone she could tolerate, she had seen more than a few Slytherins walking around the school and they all tended to make some stupid remark about her being alone... well of course she was alone, she was in a school surrounded by Slytherins for god's sake. Was she all of a sudden supposed to become all friendly to them? That wouldn't happen now or ever.
Watching the ripples disappear, Melody sat down on the sandy shores, over looking the water. It was such a nice evening, the sky was cloudless and pink and it was all so pretty. Now if only she wasn't a complete loner at that point in time, well being a loner was better than having to tolerate some Slytherin.

Elizabeth sighed as she paced back and forth along the floor boards of her room. It was late in the night and Elizabeth couldn't sleep. Now normally this would not bother her, but she needed to be up bright and early for the next day, and being deprived of sleep was not going ot help that situation. Throwing herself down on the bed Elizabeth sighed once again, this was not going to be a very peaceful night. Elizabeth was one who needed her sleep, she could be quite awful if she did not get it.
Elizabeth made a split second decision to make her way down to the black lake, it was one of the most calm spots she had ever been, maybe she could get her thoughts together there, and possibly come back and fall into a deep sleep, not waking up until her alarm clock went off and disturded her happy dreams. Looking down at her Pjs, which consist of plue and black checkered pants and a black tank top, She got up and made her way out of the room and down the stairs. She walked through the secret passage and out of the dungeons. Considering the time of night, Elizabeth was not surprised to see no one out and about. So with ease she made her way down to the lake, only to find there was someone else there.
Melody Monte. She would not be first on Elizabeth's guest list, but she couldn't say Melody was all that bad. She was sure Melody could have been in Slytherin, she was almost as bad as Elizabeth, but instead Melody had chosen to be in Gryffindor, or so Elizabeth thought. She never made it her priority to make this girl's life hell, but neither would she go out of her way to carry on a conversation. Their relationship was more of a mutual hate, and nothing more. So when Elizabeth reached the spot of which Melody was sitting, she did nothing but greet the Gryffindor. She was going to attempt to be civil, she did not need her night filled with the repeating of this girls voice in her head.
"Monte. What are you doing out here this late?" Okay, so maybe it wasn't quite as nice as Elizabeth could have been, but she had to keep things realistic. It was not like they would ever become anything close to friends, so why bother to even try?
