Draco was walking around Hogsmeade for no apparent reason. He just had to get away from Hogwarts. It's not that he had a problem with anyone there, he just didn't feel like being in that stuffy castle. It was pouring down rain. The drops were heavy and big and were coming down by the thousands. However, Draco didn't care. He liked the rain. He liked his hair being wet and the feeling of the rain on his face.
However, once Draco saw a crack in the sky, he knew the rain has gone too far. Draco hates lightening. He hates the thunder that comes along with it. The loud noise is not Draco's idea of a nice sound. And, the electricity the lightening brings is not intriguing.
Draco ran to the nearest store. It so happens that he ran right into The Three Broomsticks. He let out a sigh of relief as he went over to an empty table and sat down. He ordered a butterbeer, then scanned the place to see if anyone he knew was here. It was pretty crowded and hard to tell. Once, he got his butterbeer, Draco took a sip and scanned the place again.

As the rain poured itself down from the clouds, Elizabeth let her arms fly out to the side as she spun around in circles. How she loved the rain. The way it just washed away her pain adn soaked through her hair and past the threads of her clothes. She ran a hand trough her blond hair and sighed. Sometimes Elizabeth felt the need to be away from the school, and just be outdoors. No matter what the weather. If she needed to get away, to just clear her head, water always seemed to be the trick. Whether that be swimming in the lake, or walking in the rain, water was the cure for practically everything in Elizabeth's life.
As she stood there, soaking in the rain, she caught a glimpse of a set of platinum blond hair walk through the crowds. She smiled softly as she watched Draco walk through the rain. As the lightening began to form, she laughed as he watched him bolt into the three broom sticks. But then when she heard the thunder come down as well, Eliazabeth jumped high up in the air and sprinted her way into the pub.
She shook the water out of her hair and ran a hand through it, making it look like it hand been scrunched. With a slight smirk Elizabeth walked up to the couner ordered a butter beer and made her way to Draco's table. She slid into the seat across from him and smirk. "Hey there." She greeted him.

Draco was staring a his butterbeer that only had four sips taken out of it. He took another. Five. Draco didn't know why he was looking at his butterbeer. He was bored, I guess. There was no one he knew here. No one to talk to. He figured he should probably go back to the castle, but heard the thunder roar and sawa a crack in the sky. No way jose. He was not going anywhere. Draco took another scan around the room, no one. He then looked back down at his butter beer, and started to count the bubbles.
It has been awhile since Draco heard thunder. He was about to get up and leave, when someone he knew sat down across from him. Elizabeth! "Hey." Draco said, taking another sip of his butterbeer. He looked out the window again, and saw a crack in the sky, then heard the thunder roar. He was going to be here for awhile. A very long while.

"You Alright there Dra? You seem a bit...out of it." She stated, rasing an eyebrow. She looked out the window and smirked. "Aww, is wittle Drakie scared of the thunder?" She asked mockingly. She hoped he would know she was only joking...Slightly. Elizabeth took a drink out of her butterbeer and swallowed. She knew it was going ot be a long day.
She tapped her fingernails along the edge of the table, in a slightly repetitive pattern. Looking down at her nails she noticed a slight chip in the nail polish. She rolled her eyes and looked at Draco again. How long would it be before either of them brought up the subject which Elizabeth just did not want to talk about. Well, no matter, she did not have to talk about it if she did not want. Elizabeth could find some way to swerve her way around the subject.

Draco looked away from the window and at Elizabeth, "Yes." He said. That wasn't exactly a lie. Nor was it the truth. He was just bored. That part wasn't bad. But, he was still afraid of the lightening and thunder. He didn't like that fact. That made him seem weak and helpless. He wasn't either of them. Draco gave Elizabeth a look that stated 'not now'. It was sort of a glarish type thing. Not many people knew of his fears, and he wanted to keep it that way. Daphne Greengrass already found out about his fear of the Forbidden Forest, now Elizabeth knew about his fear of thunder and lightening. Great.
Draco softened his expression. "Erm...Elizabeth?" He said, attempting to get her attention. "What happened in the common room on the first day?" He asked. "Did I do something wrong? I was just doing what I always do." Draco wanted the answers. It's been days before, and he still has no answer. He wants to know what's up with him and Elizabeth.

]Elizabeth smirked at Draco reply to her question. "Aww, don't worry Dra. No one will find out...Except maybe the entire school body!" She laughed and said, "I'm just kidding. Your secret's safe with me." She winked and went back to lok=oking out the window. Her butter beer in hand, watching as the rain washed down the window.
She ran a hand through her hair, and stretched her feet out. As she felt them touch Draco's, she immediately pulled back. She felt butterflies run through her stomach and scowled. This was not the way Elizabeth wanted things. She did not want to grow too attached to Draco. It just wasn't her style. She knew when she grew attached to people they always ended up leaving her in some way or other. Just look at her mother.
Choking on her drink, Elizabeth listened to Draco ask the dreaded question. She decided not to answer. The reason behind this was merely she did not have an answer for him. For she herself did not know why she did the things she did that night. All she knew was she didn't want to have another meaningless snog with Draco, and then just have them go about their buisness, doing things with other people which neither of the two knew about. She had grown much to fond of Draco to have one of those snogs again. but nver would Draco know this. It would only ruin their relationship.

Draco gave Elizabeth a 'don't you dare' look. He knew she was only kidding, or so he hoped. But, he still gave her these looks, just incase. He took another sip of his half-gone butterbeer, then looked back down at it. Draco felt something brush against his feet. He looked up at Elizabeth, and pulled his feet back as well.
Draco looked at Elizabeth, wanting her to say something about it. Anything that could at least give him some hints about what happened. This was killing him. When she didn't say anything, he sighed and shook his head doubtfully. He wasn't getting anywhere. He took another sip of his butterbeer, but kept his eyes on Elizabeth, silently pleading for her to say something.

Elizabeth looked out the window, trying to escape Draco's gaze. She knew he deserved an explanation, btu she didn't have one. What was she suposed to say? Sorry Draco I just can't snog you I care about you too much? Yah, that would go over well She thought to herself witha scowl. She coughed and said, "Uhm. So did you know Vicky doesn't go here anymore? Yah she moved to Beauzbatons." Her attempts of a subject change were weak, but so at the moment, was she.
With a sigh she finally brought herself to look at Draco. She looked at Draco in the eyes and said forcefully, " I don't know okay? I just...I don't know." She shook her head in disgust at her lack of the ability to speak and returned her gaze to the window. What had life come to? She couldn't even speak to her best friend! With a groan Elizabeth slipped down and slouched in her seat.

"Oh." Draco said when Elizabeth brought up Victoria. He didn't really care at the moment. One, he and Victoria never really got along. And two, he had his mind set to something else. He would probably ask all his questions he has later, or just forget about them. He didn't want to encourage the subject change.
When Elizabeth sighed, Draco got excited, but once she told him she didn't know, he went back to being his non-excited self. However, he woud accepted that, for now. "So, about Victoria. Why?" He asked, deciding to go with the subject change.

"Ehh something to do with her father. Some buisness trip." She said disgruntly. She finished off her butterbeer and ordered another. Today was not going as well as she had hoped. Furrowing her brow Elizabeth looked at Draco. "Draco, do you ever get weird feelings that you wish you weren't able to have? Like you feel they would ruin your entire being?" She asked, referring to her feelings fro him. Of course he did not know that. And he wouldn't ither!
As she watched Draco, she took the time to take in ever detail of his appearance. The way his blond hair always had a way of finding his cold blue eyes. His pale pointed face. She loved Draco's apearance, and would change it for the world. No doubt he was one of the best looking men in the school, maybe that was one of the reason he had made Elizabeth fall for him. But she didn't want to be like every other girl who had fallen for him. And she knew he felt differently about her than any of his other 'friends' but how differently, was the question.

Draco thought about that for a bit. Did he ever feel stuff he wished he didn't. "Yes." Draco wished he wasn't keen to get answers from Elizabeth. He just wanted to think of her as just a friend. Nothing more. Or, perhaps think of her as more than a friend, and have her feel the same way (He doesn't know about her thoughts about him). He hated being stuck in the middle. "Why? Are you okay?" Draco was truely concerned. Elizabeth was his best friend. One of the few of his only real friends.
Draco took a sip of his butterbeer, but made a face afterwards. It wasn't good cold. He ordered another one, not planning on finishing the one he already had. It didn't matter much, anyway. It was almost gone. Once his new one came, he took a sip and enjoyed the feeling of the warmth in his mouth. Butterbeer was his favorite drink. There was no doubt about it. He would drink it all year round. Even if it's a hot summer day.

]Elizabeth wished she had telepathy. She wanted to know what went through his mind when he answered her. If only Vicky were here. She would tell me what he was thinking. Elizabeth missed Vicky. She was her best friend, even if she couldn't be fully trusted. But at least she could tell Vicky things she couldn't exactly tell Draco. With a sigh Elizabeth raised herself up so she was sitting up straight and looked down at the table.
"Yes." She answered. She could tell he was concerned, but she didn't know how to tell him, without really telling him. "There's...This guy." She said slowly. "That I kinda like...But we've been friends for like ever...And if I starte dating him, it would ruin my entire reputation. Not to mention anyone I have ever gotten close to leaves me." She said simply, shrugging her shoulders. She made it seem like it didn't really bug her, her apearance and body gesture said that it was a mere annoyance.
But her eyes, that was where all her emotion was held. Unlike Draco, whom showed no emotion ever, when he wanted to, his eyes were cold as eyes, gray as fog. But Elizabeth, she had warm brown eyes. Her eyes told everything you needed to know about her. Through her eyes was where the right people could tell what she was feeling. The only two people who could ever do that were Draco and Victoria. But Vicky was gone. It was just she and Draco now.

Draco listened as Elizebath told him what was on her mind. When she said there was a guy involved, something inside Draco came to a halt. There was a guy. Everything inside Draco just stopped working. What was he to do now? The girl he likes likes someone else, or so he thought. "Why would everyone leave you?" He asked. He didn't understand why. If Elizabeth wanted to be with someone, he would let her and still stay her friend.
Draco tried to read Elizabeth's eyes. He usually could find out what she was feeling when he looked into her eyes. It was just something that came with being friends for a very long time. But, a the moment, he just couldn't find out what she was feeling. He had too much on his mind. He had just found out why Elizabeth had stopped snogging him. And, it was a pretty good reason. I mean, he wouldn't want her seeing some other guy when she kissed him. He would want his image in her head, not some random bloke's.

Elizabeth smiled slightly at Draco. "It's just the way my life goes Dra. Hence why I never get close to anyone. Not anymore." with a wave of her hand, Elizabeth dismissed the subject. "But enough of that! No more sad subjects, it's not how I roll! [/i] She laughed and gave Draco a birght smile. or she tried anyways. She knew he would see right through, but she had to be as convincing as possible. She had already told him too much. It was all to obvious he didn't feel the same way, and she was not going ot make things awkward between them. "So how is Mr. Draco Malfoy? Seems like I haven't talked to you in forever!" She smiled again and finished off her butterbeer, only to order another. Elizabeth loved butterbeer. It happened to be her favourite drink. Whether it might be hot or cold out, the warmth of the drink never ceased to dissapoint Elizabeth. "What's going on in mr Malfoy's life?" She continued, steering the conversation as far as possible from herself.[/blockquote][/color]

Draco looked at Elizebeth as she tried to give him a smile. He didn't buy it though. However, he didn't say anything. He just fakely laughed along and pretended he hadn't noticed that something was bothering her. She obviously didn't want to talk about it, so he backed off. He wouldn't want anybody bothering him when he didn't want feel like talking about a particular subject, so, in this case, he decided not to be nosey.
"Yes, it has. Why is that?" Draco asked. "I am fine." No he wasn't. He had found out the girl he was starting to like likes someone else. That doesn't make you feel the best feeling. It makes you want to hurt someone. But, Draco refrained from doing so. People would think he was crazy if he suddenly stood up and started attacking some random person.
